Pathway for sheep exports to Saudi Arabia

A new pathway has been established, increasing opportunities to export Australian sheep to Saudi Arabia.

Federal Agriculture Minister David Littleproud said his department had been working closely with its counterpart in the Middle Eastern kingdom to ensure the new arrangements meet Saudi Arabia’s requirements and the health and welfare of the exported animals.

“As with all livestock exports from Australia, exporters must hold a valid licence and have arrangements in place to ensure animal health and welfare requirements are met during preparation and transport,” Mr Littleproud said.
