NSW driver learns result of appeal after being caught on camera using phone



A NSW driver has learned the result of an appeal after fighting a fine for being caught using a phone behind the wheel.

Scott Phillips, from the NSW Southern Highlands, was fined $349 and issued five demerit points after a mobile phone detection camera snapped him.

While he said he did have something in his hand when he was caught, Scott claims it was not a phone.

“It was probably sunnies or maybe a chocolate bar, I’m not entirely sure,” Scott told 7NEWS on Tuesday.
